TFT Displays are quickly becoming the ideal choice for any market looking to enhance the end user’s experience with their product. There are various types of TFT technologies, such as TN, MVA, and IPS, each offering different benefits.
 
TN (Twisted-nematic) displays are the most common consumer type TFT display. They offer basic characteristics such as wide operating temperatures, 12 or 6 o’clock viewing angles and support full color motion graphics. MVA (Multi-domain Vertical Alignment) technology offers wide viewing angles up to  75o all angles, good black depths, fast response times, and good color reproduction. IPS (In-Plane Switching) TFT technology features extra-wide, 80o  viewing angles from all sides with consistent color reproduction, making it a good choice for applications that require a full range of view.
 
In addition to TFT displays being visually appealing, they also offer the benefit of touch interaction with the integration of a touch panel. Resistive and Capacitive touch panels are used in a variety of applications to enhance the user experience. Resistive touch panels are designed to allow items other than your finger to activate the touch. These touch panels do not rely on organic properties of your finger thus allowing more ways to interact with them. Capacitive touch panels have multi-touch and gesture capability (swipe, pinch, pull, etc.) and are extremely durable in most environments including withstanding water contact, dust and grease. Capacitive touch panels will activate with either a bare finger or a capacitive stylus and have excellent dragging performance.
 
Newhaven Display offers this advancing TFT technology in 1.8”, 2.4”, 3.5”, 4.3”, 5.0”, 5.7”, and 7.0” diagonal sizes with the option of resistive and capacitive touch. Customized TFT displays, along with custom touch panel options, are also available upon request.
