A belt conveyor usually consists of two or more pulleys, with a continuous loop of material (belt) that rotates about them. One or both of the pulleys are powered, moving the belt and the material on the belt forward. There are two main industrial classes of belt conveyors: general material handling (moving boxes along inside a factory) and bulk material handling (transporting industrial/agricultural materials).
Honeywell manufactures many MICRO SWITCH switches that may be used in conveyor applications. They are designed to help control position, flow, and machine safety.
Honeywell’s MICRO SWITCH CPS Series Cable-Pull Safety Switches provide a readily accessible emergency stop signal, a cost-effective means compared to using multiple emergency stop push-buttons. The CPS Series Cable Pull Safety Switch’s internal mechanism latches on both slackened cable (push) and pulled cable.
- 1CPS Series - Single head cable pull; UL, CSA, CE, SIL3; iP67; NEMA 1, 4, 12, 13; Silver & Gold contacts
- 2CPS Series - Dual head cable pull; UL, CSA, CE, SIL3; iP67; NEMA 1, 4, 12, 13; Silver & Gold contacts
- CLSX Series - Single head hazardous location cable pull; UL, CSA; NEMA 1, 3, 4, 13; Silver
MICRO SWITCH GSX Series explosion-proof safety switches combines the world-class MICRO SWITCH global safety switch (GSS) with our superior explosion-proof housing from our LSX and BX product lines, offering our customers the best of our engineering expertise. The positive break feature is designed to provide a safe failure mode, ensuring the machine will not start, and therefore supporting a safer working environment. The GSX Series safety switch platform allows for over 10,000 actuator and switching option combinations, enabling our customers to source most of their safety and explosion-proof switch requirements from a single, global supplier. cULus; ATEX; IEC Ex; INMETRO; KOShA; IP67, NEMA 1, 4, 6, 12, 13; Div 1 & 2 - Class I: B. C. D; Div 1 &2 - Class II: E, F, G.
The MICRO SWITCH GKM Series is Honeywell's miniature product line offering one of the smallest key-op switches available. GKM has daisy-chain capability to reduce installation and down time. Pre-leaded versions allow for rapid fit, easy cable routing and function testing, potentially cutting costs dramatically in OEM applications. Per safety code EN 60954-1, components used alone comply as a Category 1. By using components in conjunction with other safety switches and modules, it is possible to construct a comprehensive protection schemes with Category 2, 3, or 4 compliance. Simple upgrade guarding solutions are available for end-user applications.
MICRO SWITCH GKN Series Key-Operated Safety Switch, 2NC/1NO Direct Opening, Slow Action, NPT Conduit, Plastic Housing, Silver Contacts. The GKN Series safety interlock switches provide superior reliability in a compact, cost-effective package size. Six different types of actuator keys are available. The GKN Series conforms to IEC 60947-5-1 and carries cULus, CE, CCC, and SIL 3 capable approvals.
Honeywell FF Series Safety Switch and Actuator, 1NC/1NO, dc, 3 m pre-wired. Honeywell FFS switches are designed to be tamper-proof, standalone safety switches that can often be used to switch relays, contacts, or safety relays directly. By removing the separate control unit, Honeywell has made it possible to use its electronic switching technology in smaller, simpler safety systems. The FFS is often suitable for use on its own, for lower category safety systems, providing two volt-free outputs (2NC or 1NC/1NO). It can be used in conjunction with safety relays where a higher category of performance is required. For ease of operation, the fixed switch has a green LED, giving true indication of FFS safety switch contacts.
HDLS Series heavy-duty limit switches include boss-and-socket head design for secure head-to-body retention, unique all-metal drive train for consistent operating characteristics even at high temperatures, and self-lifting pressure plate terminals to save wiring time. With its rugged housing, the HDLS Series is sealed to NEMA 1, 3, 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12, 13; IP65/66/67. Side rotary versions may be modified for CW and/or CCW operation, while operating heads may be rotated 90°. Low and high temperature sealing options available. Rugged metal housing; Plug-in & non-plug in; IP65/66/67 seating; 30 mm x 60 mm mounting enters; UL/CSA/CE/CCC approvals.
MICRO SWITCH 914CE Series Compact Precision Limit Switches,Top Plunger, 1NC 1NO SPDT Snap Action, 12 foot Cable. All MICRO SWITCH 14CE and 914CE series miniature enclosed switches incorporate fluorocarbon diaphragm sealing to provide reliable protection, meeting NEMA 1, 2, 3, 3R, 4, 6, 6P, and 13 as well as IP66, IP67, and IP68 requirements. Versions with boot seal also meet NEMA 12 requirements (dust, falling dirt, liquid media with solid contaminates). The cable or connector and basic switch terminals are encapsulated in an epoxy compound, offering superior resistance in harsh environments. For low temperature applications (down to -40 degrees C, -40 degrees F), CE switches can be supplied with low temperature seals and lubricant. The CE switches are a rugged and versatile switch which can be applied indoors in harsh factory floor applications, as well as on outdoor equipment in extreme temperatures. A full range of actuators are available, including plain plungers, roller plungers, side rotary, multi-directional wire, and manually operated. The switches are also available with the industry standard, M12 miniature 4-pin connector. The MICRO SWITCH 14 CE versions are designed for European applications and meet the requirements of the low voltage directive and therefore carry the CE mark. The MICRO SWITCH 914CE products meet UL and CSA standards, as well as European CE requirements.
